I come from Bangladesh where I graduated as a college engineer when I was young. After working for three years as a site supervisor, I became interested in postgraduate studies and got excited about the opportunity to study for a master’s degree in engineering in Finland. I started studying community technology at the University of Oulu in 1990 and did my thesis on road and transport technology.
After graduation, I first worked at Viatek in Oulu, which later became part of the international Ramboll Group. I started getting acquainted with track design during a year’s assignment in the UK. In 2003, I moved to the consulting and design company Afry, for which Proxion subcontracted electrical track and safety equipment work. I got to know Proxion’s employees and I became interested in how Proxion worked with all aspects of the rail industry. I saw an opportunity to learn something new and I started as a track design expert at Proxion in 2018. Currently, I mainly work as a project manager in various railway design projects. For example, I have been responsible for the construction design of the Joensuu railway yard.
I am very happy with Proxion as a workplace. I appreciate working together the most. The designers are very committed, they work well together and they help each other when needed.
There are very interesting sites and projects in railway projects, and finding the best solution is interesting and inspiring. I myself want to develop more and more in leading a big project. I am also interested in training in the field.
You don’t have to be a top expert to be able to work here. Proxion’s doors are open when you are interested and able to develop. If you are passionate about design and ready to take on challenges, welcome!
